M/V Marshall Foss

Project Details

The Marshall Foss is a conventional twin-screw harbor tug operated by Foss Maritime, now upgraded with MER Equipment’s Tango Easy Sync™ system for simplified generator synchronization and load sharing.

The vessel was outfitted with dual 99kW BOLLARD™ marine generators featuring the Tango Easy Sync™ system fully integrated into each unit. Rather than relying on a traditional main switchboard-based paralleling setup, the Tango system consolidates all paralleling logic, load share, and breaker control into the generators themselves. A simple twisted-pair communication line between units enables seamless load management with minimal installation complexity.

The implementation aboard Marshall Foss reflects years of collaboration between MER’s engineering team and Foss port engineers, who sought a streamlined, space-saving alternative to legacy systems. The result is a clean, compact system that reduces hardware, wiring, and commissioning costs, while increasing reliability and simplifying operations for the crew.
