Kitsap Ferry Finest
Project Details
MV Finest is an aluminum-hulled catamaran fast passenger ferry built at Derecktor Shipyards in 1996. A former New York Waterway vessel, while in service on the Hudson River, she participated in the maritime evacuation of Lower Manhattan after the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attack.
She was purchased in 2018 by Kitsap Transit to operate on the Seattle–Kingston route. After arriving in Puget Sound the Finest received an overhaul at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders which included two BOLLARD 65kW diesel marine generators.
